Last fall, I first tried the Apple Cider Donut recipe from the Peas and Thank You blog by Mama Pea. They were easy to make and delicious. Plus, I’m always looking for new recipes where I can use my donut pans. I add more nutmeg and cinnamon to the recipe when I make them. I also brush the donuts with some Earth Balance before they get their cinnamon-sugar coating. I love using Penzeys Cinnamon for this recipe, which is a mix of four cinnamons. When local apple cider isn’t in season, I like to use Martinelli’s Apple Cider, which I can find at Woodman’s.
I brought these donuts with me when we went back to Michigan last September. My parents and grandma loved them! I don’t think we were at my parents house even fifteen minutes before my dad had eaten two donuts. Definitely try making these donuts. You won’t be disappointed.
