Dal Soup, Garden Radishes, & Peanut Butter Cookies

It’s red lentils, onions, and tomatoes in a seasoned coconut milk based broth and topped with fresh cilantro. I’ve been using the Trader Joes brand Coconut Milk which costs 99¢ per can. It’s actually really good and I haven’t noticed any taste difference using TJ’s brand versus Thai Kitchen.


I also have a picture of some of the radishes from the garden. Some are full size, some are smaller but we had to thin them out a bit. It seems like all the seeds we planted took root. Usually, you’ll have some that don’t grow but not this time. They are the Fire & Ice Radishes from Burpee.


And last but not least, a picture of the peanut butter cookies I made. I made these primarily for my parents this time. They are my mom’s favorite cookies. They freeze well too. Speaking of peanut butter, I plan to get all the ingredients I need today to make the Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie  (from Vegan with a Vengeance) that Urban Vegan blogged about.

    These peanut butter cookies are by far my fav! I’ve had the pleasure of devouring, er… i mean enjoying them several times.

    Pretty radishes! I love the fact that you grow them, harvest them, pick them and use them. I wish i could do that but will enjoy this effort through your blog!

    The soup looks lovely; and what can i say? Peanut butter cookies! NICE!
