Vegan Ramen at Furious Spoon, Wicker Park Chicago
Furious Spoon would be a great spot to go with non-vegan friends as it has something for everyone. I really enjoyed my veggie ramen and will definitely go back. We had the day off and went on Monday when they opened. It wasn’t busy yet so it was the perfect time to try it.
Food: Hearty servings. Come hungry! We each had the veggie ramen, no egg, add fried tofu. In additional to the noodles, it had roasted garlic, cabbage, bean sprouts, and mushrooms. It was tasty and flavorful. The portions were generous and I thought it was a good value for what you got.
Each table had chopsticks, spoons, and napkins. Water is available to the right of the register.
Service: Friendly and attentive. They greeted us right away, explained the menu, and answered my questions.
Seating: Communal seating at long tables. We went on a Monday right when they opened so it wasn’t crowded. I imagine it gets crowded in the evening and on weekends.
Hours: For Wicker Park location (1571 N. Milwaukee): Sunday – Thursday: 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Friday – Saturday: 11a.m. – 2 a.m.
Parking: Pay at the box metered street parking on Milwaukee. Again, we went at an off time so parking was easy. Evenings and especially weekends: Good Luck!
Bonus: As of this writing, on their website, you can sign up to get a 25% off your first bowl coupon!
