Melty White Cheeze and Garage Sale Finds

You can find the recipe for Melty White Cheeze in the Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook by Jo Stepaniak. I actually made the Orange and Spicy Variations by adding Hungarian Half-Sharp Paprika (Penzey’s) and cayenne pepper. It’s a great vegan version of nachos. It’s yummy! Thanks to Rob for helping out with the second photo.

I found two Moosewood books at a garage sale for $3 -The Moosewood Cookbook (1992) and The Moosewood Restaurant Kitchen Garden (1992). The Kitchen Garden book has about 50 pages of recipes in addition to information about growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

Thanks for such a nice comment Vegan Cookie Monster 🙂

J – Loved your blog. I enjoy NYC. My best friend lives on the Upper West Side.

Kleo – Too bad you’re on the West Coast, we had Melty White Cheeze again tonight because it was just so good yesterday. I would have shared with you 🙂 I can’t say for sure if Rob would have. He’s quite possessive when it comes to vegan nachos 😀 ha ha!

Vicki – My post on Monday will be the Cherry Nut Bread with recipe. After I commented about it on your blog, I got hungry for it. I’m making it tomorrow LOL If TJ’s doesn’t have the cherries, Whole Foods sells a similar brand but at twice the price!
As for Penzey’s, they are a fabulous spice store and mail order catalog. I absolutely love their spices. They have a huge selection too. I’m spoiled now because they opened a store in Metro Detroit last year, so I don’t have to worry about shipping costs. But back in 2003 when we went on our honeymoon to Chicago, we had to stop in Naperville, IL on our way back to check out the Pezney Spice store!!! I’ve been using their spices for about seven years. You’ll have to try them!!! They sell their spices in all sorts of sizes from little 1/4 cup plastic jars to 1 lb. bags.
