We had a nice visit with my parents this weekend. However, they had to cut their trip short due to the impending snow. They came in Friday afternoon and left this morning. (They made it home safely.) Yesterday, we went to the Chicago Auto Show and it was great! (Suck it Detroit Auto Show & Cobo Hall!) We saw a lot of cool cars and some nifty concept cars. On Saturday, we took my parents along with us to some sales. My mom found a few things and I decided to post her thrifty finds. 😀 I’ll post my finds sometime this week.
I actually had a coupon for one of the estate sales…$5 off any purchase if you bring in a copy of the ad. I found some books (not pictured) and so did my mom. The woman at the sale said the coupon would cover the cost of the books and I was happy with that. She found a 1942 copy of “Dragon Seed” by Pearl Buck and a book of poems by Robert Browning.
This pretty Asian plate was 1/2 off and only $2.50. It’s marked Japan on the bottom too.
My mom also found this framed print. The woman at first said $20 but my mom was able to snag it for $10. Luckily I have some artwork boxes on hand from our move so I packed up the painting securely for her.
Hope everyone has a wonderful evening. I’m looking forward to visiting blogs tomorrow to see what everyone is up too. Hope your weekend was great 😀 I also updated my previous post to include the granola bar recipe.
