Pizza bagels are quick and easy to make. They are great for those days where you just don’t have a lot of time. In the Detroit area, the best bagels are at New York Bagel located on 12 Mile at the corner of Evergreen (they are in the strip mall) in Southfield.
I just split the bagels in half, top with Muir Glen Organic Pizza Sauce, and put vegan soy cheeze on top. This time, I had Tofutti cheeze on hand. I sprinkle a little Italian Herb Mix over the top. Then I put them in my toaster oven, usually on the 4-6 slice option and on setting 2. After that, I add tomato slices and a little more soy cheeze. Then back into the toaster oven for another minute or two.
My toaster oven is a Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven. I’ve owned it for about seven years and love it. You can toast, bake, and broil. It is on the expensive side. I bought mine at Bed, Bath, and Beyond with a 20% off coupon. I use my toaster oven often so it gets prime kitchen counter space. I don’t have a microwave so there’s plenty of room for it. I just don’t like microwaves and prefer to heat and reheat food on the stove or in the oven or toaster oven. My parents never owned a microwave either.
I found a Sunset Flooring book at a garage sale for 50¢. It has a lot of information that is still relevant today such as repairing floors – everything from rips to squeaks and a section on refinishing floors. I figure it will come in handy with the next house we buy.
