The Olive Oil Place, Schaumburg, IL

I went to a terrific store today called The Olive Oil Place in Schaumburg, IL. As the name suggests, they do sell high quality olive oil. They also sell hard-to-find vinegars, jarred olives, olive oil soap, and more. It’s a small store located in The Streets of Woodfield shopping complex, right next to Carson Pirie Scott. The really cool thing about this place is that you can taste the oils and vinegar before you buy them. They also bottle the oils fresh in the store for you. I love that! The service was really friendly and efficient too.

I had read about this store online and then I received a coupon in the mail for 20% off my second bottle of olive oil. That settled it. I had to check it out. I went to their website before visiting the store to see what specific products they offered. I was thrilled to see they carry Tangerine Balsamic Vinegar!!! I bought a bottle of that as well as bottles of Hoji-Blance and Ascalana Extra Virgin Olive Oils. Even for a thrifty person like me, I thought their prices were right in line for the type and quality of products they carry. I am a firm believer in using good quality oils and spices when I cook (I highly recommend The Spice House in Evanston for spices).

I can’t wait to try my new goodies and I’ll definitely visit this store again. Their exact address is 601 N. Martingale Rd. #145, Schaumburg, IL.

neat :- ) We have a place here called Vinegar and Oil which I think is similar — olive oils on tap! I’m hesitant to go in there… I may spend an entire paycheck.

Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂 It feels nice to be getting back into the blogging thing.

I’m always looking for new olive oils to try! I especially love spanish olive oils- they are so green, they are almost bitter, and SO flavorful. mmmmmmmmm…. thanks for sharing this store with us!

Nothing like a good quality virgin olive oil. Glad we have a few local brands here that are great and don’t cost the earth.

Wow tangerine balsamic vinegar, never ever heard of that before. It would be great on a green salad.

I want to go there! How cool that you can taste before you buy. I’m always reluctant to try some of the brands in the store because I’ve had a few that tasted “off” and then you’ve wasted that money.

I’ve never heard of flavored balsamic vinegars either but it sounds really good.
